Good health as precursor of abundance

                            By Bayo Ogunmupe

Learn to pay attention to your body's signals and emotional responses to the demands you place on yourself. When you are tired to distraction, you need to slow down  and rest. There are seasons that require extra time and energy. But even in the midst of these seasons you need to find a way to take care of yourself. If you constantly ignore your body's aches and pains, you work twenty four hours a day and seven days a week; eat meat pie out of vending machines and run on caffeine and adrenalin, you will get sick and be forced to slow down. This is because you wouldn't give yourself the time to take care of yourself.
Thus, knowing your speed limits allows you to know when it's time for you to go on vacation. You need time to refuel and replenish, restore your energy and give your soul a holiday. Many of us have abused our bodies for so long that we believe our healthiest days are behind us. This isn't necessarily so. No matter how bad your health condition, your body has the ability to restore itself. God will work with you and in you to bring you back to wholeness if you follow Jehovah's guidelines to good health.
Practice whatever you believe, your profession or vocation and lifestyle for God's glory. "He makes me lie down...He restores my soul,"Psalm 23:2-3. Look at your plate and ask whether what you are about to eat is what God created for you to stay healthy. Make eating a balanced diet a way of life. Each time you eat healthy foods, you choose life, which is God's gift to you. Taking care of yourself is essential for a fulfilled life. Taking care of yourself is good stewardship. By eating well, sleeping well, exercising adequately, going on regular holidays, you can increase the effectiveness of your life and truly bring glory to God, 1 Corinthians 6:19,20.
Apart from adequate nutrition and wellness, there are other things you should be able to say about your life. You only live once to the world, but if you do it right, living once could grant you eternal life. And you know you are on the right path when you can repeat aloud each of the following headlines. One, you are following your heart and intuition. Let your dreams lead you. Be the person you want to remember years from now. Do not be deterred by mistakes and failure, give your dreams your best shot.
Two, be honest with yourself. Be honest about what you want to achieve in life and who you want to become. Three, make a difference. Act as if what you do makes a difference. We all live to serve and by helping others we fulfill our destiny. Four, forgive and forget those who hurt you.All of us have been treated badly before; trust was broken, but do not become a prisoner of that pain. Grudges are a waste of perfect happiness, they cause us to miss out on the beauty of life.
Five, have no regrets. Follow your heart. Do what makes you happy; hang around those who make you smile. Laugh as much as you can, it prolongs your life and happiness. You remember the memory of laughter with another laughter. Love as long as you live. Appreciate what you have by celebrating your victories. Also, know that you are not alone in the struggle to make an imprint in the universe. Your mistakes and failures are lessons for your ultimate good.
