There are four types of fuel that help people achieve success in
life. Sometimes when you lose steam or enthusiasm, you make decisions to
pursue your dreams, only to lose passion; and you find yourself giving
up. By studying successful people you find there are four kinds of fuel
that pushed them to achieve greatness. The first is success fueled by
your goals. Which is why many successful people are fueled by their
dreams. Such people are vision-oriented. Everyday they think of their
dreams, talk about their dreams and work on their dreams. They fly from
people seeking to break their dreams by offering them new projects.
To thwart dream breakers you must own a dream journal which you must
browse everyday. In the journal you define what you want to accomplish
in life. You create meaning for your life. But more than having dreams,
you must make God's dreams your dreams. When you are sharing the same
dreams with God, you don't run, you fly. Secondly, your success is
fueled by your groans. Unlike the first person that is driven by his
future, this second person is driven by his past. He is driven by his
pains. You must embrace pain and burn it like fuel for your journey to
stardom.
The third fuel type is success fueled by your gift. The third
successful person is one fueled by his passion or love for his work. I
have met some of these uber-successful people eyeball to eyeball. Some
of them are't literate to the level of having dreams or dream journals.
But they are very successful because of their passion for their craft.
Some of them are entrepreneurs, businessmen, transporters and traders.
They didn't climb mountain to find gold at the top. Nor did they have
pain in the valley that drove them up the mountain. They just love
climbing mountains.
But for many climbing mountains is painful. Wherefore, some become
extreme, finding solace in a call to destiny. Such people have embraced
the fourth fuel type, success obtained in serving God. Such people
include:Nigerian Shiite leader El Zakzaky, Enoch Adeboye, David Oyedepo,
Matthew Ashimilowo, Tunde Bakare and Temitope Balogun Joshua. But there
are those very successful, only to self destruct at the pinnacle of
their success, because of imbalance in their lives. If you need long
term success, you need to learn the important lesson that balance is
power.
Balance is a principle in boxing. Without balance you will fall by the
weakest blow. And believe it or not, problems will try to topple you.
And where is the only path to balance? The only path to balance is in
finding God in your goals, your groans and gifts. At the end you have to
be driven by humility, love, gratitude and forgiveness. When God's love
is your fuel, you become selfless. Which is what religion is all about;
unless you become selfless you never know peace and happiness. Results
require action. An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of
preaching. And keep pushing forward: first they will ignore you; then
they will laugh at you, then you win.
