Ogunmupe was senior tutor, Lautai High School, Gumel, Jigawa State; principal, Okebadan High School, Ibadan; Political Editor, Daily Sketch, Ibadan; Production Editor, Nigerian Tribune, Ibadan; Senior Sub Editor, Daily Times, Lagos; Lecturer, Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Apongbon, Lagos; Press Secretary, Hamzas Holdings Limited, Apapa; and Associate Editor, Newswatch magazine, Lagos. He has been economics columnist at The Guardian since 1993. He was chief economist at Mega Equities Limited, Lagos; media consultant, University of Ilorin 2002/2007, and has won NMMA awards including NUJ-Ladi Lawal Journalist of the Year 2010. Ogunmupe is the author of the best selling historical: Nigerian Politics In the Age of Yar Adua.
