Residents of Ajose, Alfa Nda, Akanro, Dosunmu and Lawanson streets of Mushin, Idiaraba and Surulere have sent out save our souls pleas to police for the rampaging armed gangs in the area. It started on January 19, 2018 at Kekereowo Street where the gang of youngsters began battering cars and robbing owners and commuters alike. Then the following weekend, the marauding robbers invaded Bishop Aggey, Polar Bed and Babalola streets breaking vehicles with axes and stones and robbing their victim. These criminal groups allied with cults became daily nightmares at Onayungbo and Morgan streets throughout February and March this year.
Robberies occasioned by these gangs were reported to Itire Police Station and Zone D Divisional Police Office, Mushin. Then, it became criminal rivalry between Lawanson gangs and Idiarada boys. They rob, machete people, and destroy vehicles day and night. By the first week of this month they have started to arm themselves with guns. Thereupon, residents reported the marauders at Itire Police Station while at Zone D, the Area Commander asked residents to petition the Inspector General of Police to enable the police provide additional police surveillance.
