First time visitor praises Nigeria

    A professor of sociology at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada, Professor Harley Dickinson had praises for Nigeria when asked his opinion of Nigeria as a first time visitor. Professor Dickinson thinks Nigerians are a very friendly and hospitable people. He said this at an interview during his visit to The Guardian in its Rutam House office in Lagos at the weekend.
    Professor Dickinson is visiting Nigeria at the invitation of the University of Lagos. Last year, the vice chancellor of the University of Lagos, Professor Raheem Bello visited the University of Saskatchewan where he sought their cooperation in building research laboratories for the University of Lagos.
      It is in the fulfillment of the agreement on  the building of Social Network Analysis Laboratories that Dickinson is visiting Nigeria. The said laboratories will be part of the Social Science Research Library planned for the University of Lagos. Professor Dickinson disclosed that the internationalization of higher education is his pet project. In the world today higher education has become an item of international trade, he said.
